Selection by standards and approvals

Standards, approvals and test methods declared in the data sheets of products from the railway offer, grouped into five sections. Each page provides the title, current edition, status, scope, relevance for selection, and products with a declaration - divided into rolling stock and infrastructure. Compliance is always confirmed by the data sheet or the manufacturer’s declaration.

Standards developed for the railway sector (CENELEC TC 9X, IEC TC 9, CEN/TC 256, UIC, NF F, AREMA, NFPA). The scope indicates whether the standard applies to rolling stock, fixed installations, or both.
General standards for the product type. The declaration describes the product and its type tests; suitability for railway applications is determined by qualification according to railway standards.
Standards describing the test method: what they simulate, how the test is performed, and which severity levels they offer. A test result is not a declaration of product conformity - the severity level is selected by the product standard or the specification.
Third-party marks (UL, CSA, TÜV, VDE, DNV, CRCC) and the standards on which a listing or certificate is issued. Each page indicates who issues the approval, what it confirms, and where the certificate can be verified.
Legal acts cited in component declarations of conformity: scope, conformity assessment procedure, and the significance of the component declaration. Conformity of a vehicle and railway installation is assessed under Directive 2016/797 and the TSIs.
