Solid-state relays (SSR).
Parts declared by products:
The standard covers solid-state relays (SSR) as elementary two-state relays switching between OFF and ON, intended for incorporation into other equipment (industry, machinery, household appliances, building automation, medical equipment and lighting control).
Edition 2 added DC load categories, lamp loads, socket terminals and EMC requirements. It does not cover monolithic semiconductor switches (within IEC SC 47E) or semiconductor controllers and contactors covered by the IEC 60947 series (4-2, 4-3).
IEC 62314 specifies load categories, rated voltage and current, and safety requirements for an SSR as a component; the designer should check whether the manufacturer declares the 2022 edition (with DC categories and EMC) or only the 2006 edition.
