PLC-INTERFACE relay modules of the PLC-RPT series interface control circuits with output circuits, providing galvanic isolation and voltage-level adaptation. Push-in connection enables tool-free wiring, while the 6.2 mm module width minimizes DIN-rail space where many circuits are required.
The range includes 24, 72 and 110 V DC inputs, matching both onboard battery voltages in rail vehicles and station batteries in signal boxes and substations. A 230 V AC, 16.7 Hz version is also available for facilities supplied directly from the traction power network. On the output side, versions are available with one or two changeover contacts rated at 250 V AC or DC and 6 A continuous current, or 10 A in HC versions; HC variants are available for 24 V DC and 110 V DC inputs, but not in the 72 V range.
A separate group comprises AU variants with gold-plated contacts for low-current signal circuits rated at 30 V AC and 36 V DC at 50 mA-the gold plating ensures reliable contact where the current is too low to break through an oxide layer on a silver contact. The AU datasheet specifies AgSnO contact material with a hard-gold layer, a minimum switching voltage of 100 mV at 10 mA, and a minimum switching current of 1 mA at 24 V. These are typical requirements for signalling circuits in interlockings. A separate datasheet section, “with destroyed gold layer”, gives ratings after the layer has been damaged: 250 V AC/DC and 6 A continuous current, but the minimum switching voltage rises to 12 V AC/DC and the minimum switching current to 10 mA. These are the same 250 V and 6 A values shown in the catalogue table in parentheses with the note “with damaged gold coating”: a single switching operation under a power load raises the lower current limit tenfold and removes the contact’s signal-level properties. The spring-connection design is resistant to shock and vibration, and the modules operate from −40 °C to +70 °C in temperature class TX.
Product datasheets confirm compliance with IEC 60947-5-1 for control-circuit switching devices, EN 50155 for electronic equipment on rail vehicles, EN 61373 for shock and vibration, and EN 50121 for electromagnetic compatibility. The railway catalogue table additionally lists EN 45545-2 fire protection for RW variants and specifies EN 50121-3-2. The 230 V AC, 16.7 Hz version is designated RWF and the table confirms only EN 45545-2 and EN 50155 for it-without EN 61373 or EN 50121-3-2. The portfolio is complemented by jumpers, markers and test accessories common to the terminal-block system.
