Crydom EL solid-state relays (SSR-switches without moving contacts) are compact panel modules with a factory-applied thermal pad, input-status LED and optional integrated surge protection. The AC version operates at 24–280 V AC (47–63 Hz) with current ratings of 5, 10, 20 and 30 A (for example EL240A10 and EL240A30).
Control voltage is 4–8, 10–14 or 21–27 V DC, nominally 5, 12 and 24 V. Zero-voltage or instantaneous switching is available.
Permissible surge current is up to 260/280 A for one cycle. A DC-output version is also available. Approvals: UL component recognition, TÜV, CE and RoHS.
In rolling stock and infrastructure, the modules are used for contactless switching of heating, lighting and ventilation circuits in equipment cabinets.
