PLC-INTERFACE solid-state modules of the PLC-OPT series switch circuits without moving contacts, so they are not subject to mechanical wear and operate silently. This solution is suitable wherever switching frequency is high and service access is difficult-in unattended wayside facilities, door-control systems and controller outputs.
The input range covers 24, 36, 48, 72, 96 and 110 V DC, allowing signals from a vehicle’s onboard network and from interlocking control circuits to be interfaced without additional level converters. The output side is available in two versions: for low-voltage circuits from 3 to 33 V DC, and for higher-voltage circuits from 12 to 140 V DC. In both cases there is one normally open output rated at 3 A, defining the application limit-circuits requiring more current are handled by electromechanical modules. Datasheets relate the 3 A rating to a derating curve and specify a voltage drop at maximum continuous current of less than 200 mV for the 24 V DC version and less than 150 mV for the 110 V DC version. Galvanic isolation between input and output is provided by an optoelectronic circuit, limiting interference transfer between the control and controlled circuits.
The category contains eight items. Compliance with EN 45545-2, EN 50155 and EN 61373 is based on the railway catalogue table, in which all eight items are marked for all three standards. The 110 V DC version datasheet lists DIN EN 50155 in the relevant parts and DNVGL-CG-0339 under “Railway standard”; the 24 V DC version does not contain this section. Both datasheets declare IEC 60947-5-1 for clearances between input and output, and describe shock resistance as compliant with DIN 50155 with EN 61373 requirements. EN 50121-3-2-unlike for electromechanical versions-is not declared for the solid-state modules; the solid-state relay table does not include this column. The modules operate from −25 °C to +70 °C with IP20 protection and have the same 6.2 mm mounting width and accessories as electromechanical versions, allowing both technologies to be mixed on one DIN rail.
