Fluke TiX580 Thermal Imager (640 × 480, 240° articulating lens)

Expert-grade thermal imager with a full-resolution detector and an articulating lens that enables inspection of objects overhead, behind an obstruction or in a confined cabinet while the screen is held comfortably in front of the user. The large touchscreen enables analysis and editing of images directly on the camera.

It differs from professional-grade models in its thermal sensitivity, software SuperResolution mode and interchangeable smart lenses (telephoto, wide-angle and macro) that require no calibration. LaserSharp autofocus measures distance with a rangefinder before focusing; MultiSharp combines images to provide sharp focus across the field of view.

On overhead traction lines, the camera locates overheating joints, rail-bonding terminals and disconnector contacts. In substations and vehicle equipment cabinets, it identifies overloaded connections and faulty contacts before failure. Detector resolution determines the distance at which a target of a given size can yield a reliable temperature reading (D:S ratio).
