Fluke BT521 Battery Analyzer (stationary batteries, internal resistance)

Stationary battery analyzer for inspection, diagnostics and condition testing of individual cells and complete backup battery banks. It measures cell internal resistance using an injected AC test signal, DC and AC voltage, ripple, current and terminal temperature, and automatically records the results in a measurement sequence for the entire cell string.

Within the 500 Series, the BT521 offers the full feature set: an intelligent probe with display and infrared temperature sensor, a current clamp and wireless connectivity to the application. The instrument compares resistance and voltage values against warning and failure thresholds after each measurement.

In substations, signalling containers and trackside cabinets, the analyzer is used for backup and UPS batteries; in rolling stock, for onboard batteries. Trending internal resistance helps identify cells losing capacity before a discharge test.
