Fluke 568 Infrared Thermometer (up to 800 °C, D:S 50:1)

Infrared thermometer combining non-contact measurement and a type K thermocouple input in one housing, for quick temperature checks of energized equipment and moving parts. Adjustable emissivity with a built-in materials table enables measurements on metal, painted and insulating surfaces without manual correction.

Compared with the 566, it has a wider temperature range, higher distance-to-spot ratio and data logging with USB transfer to a computer. High and low alarms indicate limit violations through sound and colour.

In substations the thermometer checks terminal and equipment enclosure temperatures; under rolling stock, bearings and brake discs; and onboard, resistors and converters - wherever a thermal imager would be excessive. At long distances, the spot becomes larger than small targets and the reading includes surrounding surfaces; the D:S ratio determines the maximum practical measurement distance.
