QUINT POWER AC/DC DIN-rail power supplies provide control and signalling circuits with output voltages from 5 V DC to 110 V DC at currents up to 40 A. Single-phase inputs and three-phase 400 and 500 V AC inputs are available, allowing the power supply to be selected both for a substation switchboard and for an individual wayside cabinet.
SFB (Selective Fuse Breaking) technology delivers a short pulse of up to six times rated current, ensuring selective tripping of B6 and B10 circuit breakers-failure of one load circuit does not shut down the remaining circuits. Static and dynamic power reserves cover inrush currents without oversizing the power supply, while an indication contact with early-warning function reports a drop in output voltage before the supply is lost.
Variants intended for rail vehicles comply with EN 50155, EN 61373 for shock and vibration in Category 1 Class B, EN 45545-2 for fire protection and EN 50121-3-2; they have conformally coated printed circuit boards and are tested for startup at −40 °C. Infrastructure variants comply with EN 50121-3-2, EN 50121-4 and EN 50121-5, while items marked PT provide 3.1 kV dielectric strength between input, output and housing and protection class II, allowing installation without a protective conductor; selected items operate in 16.7 Hz systems. The QUINT4-PS/1AC/24DC/20/+ variant additionally provides SIL 3 with HFT 1 according to IEC 61508 for output overvoltage protection.
