The CLIPLINE complete DIN-rail terminal-block system handles control, signal and power circuits within one mechanical family, so jumpers, markers and test accessories remain common regardless of the selected connection technology. 2.5 mm² feed-through terminal blocks operate at a rated voltage of 800 V and rated current of 24 A, with an impulse voltage of 8 kV and overvoltage category III; the connection complies with IEC 60947-7-1. PT and PTV series accept conductors from 0.14 mm² to 4 mm², while ST starts at 0.08 mm². For 2.5 mm², the manufacturer performed a short-time withstand-current test at 0.3 kA, with a temperature rise not exceeding 45 K. Across the family, the range increases with connection technology: Push-X 17.5 A–76 A at 0.25 mm²–25 mm², Push-in 17.5 A–309 A at 0.14 mm²–185 mm², and screw connection 17.5 A–380 A at 0.14 mm²–240 mm².
Datasheets for PT 2.5, PTV 2.5 and ST 2.5 confirm railway approvals: fire protection according to DIN EN 45545-2 for R22, R23, R24 and R26 requirement sets at hazard levels HL1–HL3, as well as surface flammability, optical smoke density and combustion-gas toxicity according to NFPA 130 (ASTM E 162, ASTM E 662, SMP 800C), each with a positive result, with UL 94 V0 flammability class. Broadband random vibration was tested by the manufacturer according to DIN EN 50155 (VDE 0115-200) as a durability test in Category 2, bogie-mounted: 5 Hz–250 Hz, ASD level 6.12 (m/s²)²/Hz, acceleration 3.12 g, 5 h on each X, Y and Z axis. Half-sine shocks: 30 g, 18 ms duration, three shocks in each direction. Category 2 covers bogie mounting, a harsher vibration environment than carbody-mounted equipment. The insulating material is suitable for static temperatures down to −60 °C, while the operating ambient-temperature range is −60 °C to 110 °C.
The PTV series moves the conductor connection to the side of the terminal block, solving installation in flat concentrators and in wiring behind covers or in intermediate spaces where front access is impossible. ST uses a spring connection, accepts flexible conductors from 0.08 mm² and allows one-handed wiring. Push-X connects conductors without tools and without ferrules, including the smallest cross-sections. PT Power spring connection is intended for power connections from 16 mm² to 185 mm²: no torque wrench or cable lug is required because contact force is provided by the spring, reducing replacement time during vehicle servicing. Potential distribution to smaller outgoing conductors is handled by PTFIX and PTVFIX distribution blocks rated 41 A / 690 V, also available with disconnect knife or with fuse and LED indication.
A separate group consists of terminal blocks for function plugs, found in virtually every rail vehicle and interlocking: they are used for switching, signal conditioning, circuit protection, disconnection, testing and measurement. The electronic component, usually a diode or resistor, is integrated into the terminal block or placed in an external component holder, simplifying replacement during maintenance.
