China Railway Test & Certification Center certificate - approval of railway products for the Chinese market.
CRCC certifies railway products and urban rail-transit equipment for the Chinese market. The catalogue covers 378 product groups: rolling stock (locomotives, freight and passenger cars, multiple units), infrastructure (turnouts, track, signalling systems), safety components (wheels, axles, linings and braking systems), and power-supply and sectioning equipment.
According to MPR China Certification, CRCC certification is mandatory for export, sale and use of railway products listed in the catalogue on the Chinese market.
The certificate demonstrates that product samples passed testing at an accredited laboratory under Chinese Implementation Rules and GB standards and that the manufacturing plant passed an audit including sample selection. The certificate applies to the Chinese market and does not demonstrate compliance with EN/IEC standards used in Europe.
It does not replace national approvals outside China.
The process described by MPR China Certification has five steps: analysis of Implementation Rules and GB standards (purchased by the applicant), submission of documentation for the product category, testing of samples and components at an accredited laboratory, factory inspection with random sampling (according to Wikipedia, a two-day audit by Chinese inspectors after completion of testing), and issuance of a Certificate of Approval by CRCC.
Annual surveillance audits apply after certification.
