WMS-2 HF heat-shrink sleeves are used for permanent marking of wires and cables in rail-vehicle and infrastructure installations. Once placed over the conductor and shrunk, they form a mechanically retained marker that cannot be accidentally shifted or lost during servicing-unlike loose slip-on markers. The solution is particularly suitable where wiring is exposed to vibration, contamination or outdoor conditions.
The material is halogen-free, meets hazard levels HL1 to HL3 and satisfies R22 to R24 requirements of DIN EN 45545-2 for fire protection of rail vehicles. The polyolefin version operates from −30 °C to +105 °C, covering both roof installations exposed to sunlight and underframe spaces. Shrink ratio is 2:1. The sleeves are thermal-transfer printed and are available in roll and continuous formats, allowing labels for an entire harness to be prepared in one run.
