gR full-range semiconductor cylindrical fuse-links for protection of DC control, measurement and auxiliary circuits. Size 20×127 covers 1000 V DC in the 6–63 A range with 100 kA breaking capacity and 1500 V DC in the 1.5–25 A range with 30 kA capacity. Size 20×190 operates at 1500 V DC in the 6–32 A range with 60 kA breaking capacity at a circuit time constant L/R = 40 ms. The datasheet specifies gR class according to IEC 60269-4 and VDE 636-23.
The full-range characteristic interrupts both overcurrents and short-circuit currents - an aR fuse protects only against short circuits and requires separate overload protection. In control and measurement circuits, where a fault may begin as an overcurrent, this difference determines fuse selection. The 1.5–5 A range at 1500 V DC supports measurement and monitoring circuits supplied directly from the DC bus.
Versions with a striker provide mechanical operation indication and allow a signal to be sent to a controller, reducing fault-location time in unattended trackside cabinets. The size 20×190 striker provides 4.5 N force at 0 mm and 2.5 N at 7 mm extension. Power losses at rated current: from 3.5 W (6 A) to 17.4 W (63 A) for 20×127 at 1000 V DC and from 7.8 W (6 A) to 26 W (32 A) for 20×190 - values useful for cabinet thermal balance.
