M12 RAIL circular connectors with Push-Pull locking can be connected and disconnected without tools, reducing installation time by up to 80% compared with screw-coupled versions. The locking mechanism prevents the connection from loosening under vibration; the products comply with EN 61373 Category 1 Class B, a typical requirement for electrical equipment on rolling stock. Three codings cover successive levels of the onboard TCN network: A for signals, sensors and actuators; D for Ethernet and PROFINET CAT5 on the ETB train-bus and ECN coach-bus levels; and X for high-data-rate auxiliary systems, where Ethernet and PROFINET CAT6A reach 10 Gb/s. A 360-degree shield connection using Advanced Shielding Technology maintains EMC performance at full transmission speed. The insulators of most items meet EN 45545-2 fire-protection requirements for R22, R23 and R24 requirement sets up to the highest hazard level, HL3. Field-attachable versions are available with Push-Lock spring connection, crimp connection and QUICKON insulation-displacement connection, as well as ready-made signal and network cables in 2 m, 5 m and 10 m lengths. The Push-Pull system complies with IEC 61076-2-010, ensuring cross-manufacturer compatibility.
