The Airpax 260 series protects circuits in rail-vehicle driver's cabs. Its trip-free mechanism trips the device even if the handle is held in the ON position, so an operator cannot keep the contacts closed during a short circuit. The family includes IPA, CPA and NPA variants with one to three poles, in series configuration or series configuration with an auxiliary contact.
Ratings are 0.050–30 A at 65 V DC and 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, and 0.050–15 A at 250 V AC, 400 Hz. Dielectric strength is 3000 V AC for 60 s. The characteristic remains stable from −40 to +85 °C.
The IPA variant maintains insulation clearances according to IEC 601 for medical equipment and IEC 950 for information-technology equipment, as well as VDE 0804/0805. Approvals: UL 1077, CSA C22.2-235, TÜV VDE 0642 (EN 60934), CE; CCC pending.
