Sensata Technologies is an American manufacturer of sensors, protection devices, and switching equipment, present in the railway industry through the Airpax (hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers - HMCB), Crydom (solid-state relays), BEI Sensors (encoders and position sensors), Kavlico (pressure sensors), Gigavac (high-voltage relays), and Cynergy3 (level sensors and reed relays) sub-brands. ELTRON is an authorized distributor of Sensata in Poland.

Airpax hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers are an alternative to thermal-magnetic MCB circuit breakers on DIN rails in rolling-stock auxiliary circuits: the tripping characteristic is independent of ambient temperature, while panel mounting reduces the space occupied (according to Sensata, by up to 60%) and the weight of the equipment. According to Sensata, a rail vehicle has between 250 and 400 circuit breakers per car, while a five-car EMU has approximately 200. Sensata railway products declare compliance with EN 50155, EN 45545-2 (flammability and smoke toxicity), EN 60077, and testing according to MIL-STD-202 - details for each product are provided in its datasheet.

We support rolling-stock manufacturers, infrastructure operators, and railway signalling system integrators in selecting circuit breakers, relays, and sensors for the installation location and in compiling documentation for vehicle certification.
