What the standard covers

The standard contains a collection of registered graphical symbols placed on equipment or its parts to instruct the user how to operate it. Each symbol has a registration number, title, graphical representation (vector and non-vector), function description, intended use and related publications.

Symbols from ISO 7000 are also published in the joint ISO/IEC database (ISO 7000 / IEC 60417).
