What the standard covers

The standard specified safety requirements for mains- or battery-powered information technology equipment, including electrical business equipment and associated equipment. It was replaced by IEC/EN 62368-1 (HBSE approach, common to ICT and audio/video equipment).

IEC 60950-1 declarations in SSR and circuit-breaker data sheets refer to insulation and clearance tests according to the withdrawn standard.

What this means for selection

As with EN 60950-1: the declaration refers to a withdrawn standard; for new projects require confirmation according to IEC/EN 62368-1.
