External doors of rail vehicles - requirements for door systems.
The standard covers passenger access systems in the bodysides of all newly designed rail vehicles: trams, metros, commuter trains, long-distance trains and high-speed trains; it includes manually operated and powered systems.
Service entrances and entrances intended only for crew, freight wagon doors and emergency exits are outside its scope. The standard applies to rolling stock.
Passenger interface components (push-buttons, indicators) selected for a door system must meet the EN 14752 functional requirements applicable to the complete entrance system; the door manufacturer requires this from component suppliers.
