Emergency stop function - principles for design.
The standard specifies functional requirements and design principles for the emergency-stop function of machinery regardless of the type of energy. It excludes functions such as reversal of motion, braking, isolation of power supply or shielding of emissions.
It applies to all machinery except machines for which an emergency stop would not reduce risk and hand-held or hand-guided machines.
