Doors, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters - burglar resistance; test method for resistance to manual burglary attempts.
CEN building standard: describes a test method for the resistance of pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters to manual burglary attempts using defined tool sets and times. It does not cover resistance of cylinders and locks to manipulation with lock-opening tools (picking), electrical and electronic attacks, or the behaviour of the fixing in the building structure.
It forms part of the test set (EN 1628, 1629, 1630) used for classification according to EN 1627.
A test to EN 1630 documents how long and with which tools an enclosure was attacked - giving the designer a comparable measure of protection for a trackside cabinet against manual unauthorised access.
