Doors, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters - burglar resistance; requirements and classification (RC classes).
CEN building standard: specifies requirements and classification for burglar resistance of pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters with various opening methods (hinged, tilt, sliding, pivoting, etc.), including products with integrated elements such as ventilation openings.
It excludes walls and roofs as well as industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates covered by EN 13241. Resistance classes RC are based on tests according to EN 1628, EN 1629 and EN 1630.
An RC class according to EN 1627 states the verified resistance time and tool set that a door or enclosure withstands - allowing the protection level of a trackside cabinet against unauthorised access to be specified without separate testing.
