A multiturn absolute encoder in a flat housing with a Ø14 mm through hollow shaft. The flat design and through shaft allow position measurement to be inserted into a point machine or bogie gearbox without extending the shaft line. Reducing sleeves cover shaft diameters of 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm. Resolution is 8192 counts per revolution (13 bit), with multiturn counting up to 65,536 revolutions (16 bit). The SSI interface is galvanically isolated and operates at 100–500 kHz. Supply is 5–30 V DC with short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection.
Two control inputs are provided: DIRECTION for count direction and RAZ for position reset. A version with incremental channels additionally provides 2048 pulses per revolution at 5–30 V DC. The body is aluminium, the cover machined steel, the shaft stainless steel, with 6803-series bearings and a Viton shaft seal. Axial load is 20 N and radial load 50 N; permissible and continuous speed is 6000 min⁻¹, mass 0.480 kg. The clamping ring is tightened to 1.5 N·m and breakaway torque is 2.0 N·m.
Protection is IP65 according to EN 60529, operating and storage temperature −20…+85 °C, insulation withstand 100 V for 1 minute. Shock resistance is 500 m/s² for 6 ms according to EN 60068-2-27, vibration resistance 100 m/s² from 10–2000 Hz according to EN 60068-2-6, and electromagnetic compatibility according to EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4.
Multiturn counting extends the measuring range beyond one revolution, so the position of a long travel can be read directly without a counting system in the controller. The datasheet does not declare compliance with EN 50155, EN 61373 or EN 45545-2-suitability for onboard installation must be confirmed by the manufacturer.
