Crydom DP solid-state contactors (SSR-switches without moving contacts) are reversing DC motor contactors that change motor direction without mechanical contacts.
Operating voltage is 1–48 V DC, with current ratings of 20, 40 and 60 A under UL 508 / IEC 60947-4-1 Category DC-1; for motors in Category DC-3, ratings are 13, 14 and 15 A respectively. Control voltage is 4–15 V DC for DP4R60D20/D40/D60 models or 18–32 V DC for DP4R60E20/E40/E60. Integrated functions include soft start and stop ramps, dynamic braking and LED diagnostics.
Permissible surge current is up to 80/140/240 A for 10 ms. Operating temperature is −30 to +80 °C; the Valox housing is UL 94 V-0. Approvals: cULus component recognition, IEC 60947-4-1, CE and RoHS.
In rolling stock, they are used for contactless reversing of low-voltage DC motors such as damper drives, actuators and pumps in auxiliary systems.
