Crydom 1-DC solid-state relays (SSR-switches without moving contacts), models D1D60, D1D80 and D1D100, switch DC circuits rated 60, 80 and 100 A at voltages up to 100 V DC. The output uses MOSFET transistors and is controlled by 3.5–32 V DC. Very low on-state resistance of 0.005–0.01 Ω limits thermal losses and equipment heating in the cabinet; permissible surge current is up to 330 A for 10 ms.
Pulse-width-modulated control (PWM-control by changing pulse duration) is supported up to 1000 Hz. Operating temperature is −40 to +100 °C. Approvals: UL and CE according to EN 60950-1; electromagnetic immunity according to IEC 61000-4-2/-4/-5 Level 3 and vibration/shock according to IEC 60068-2-6 / 60068-2-27.
In rolling stock, they are used for contactless control of heaters, lighting and auxiliary circuits supplied from the onboard DC network.
