Sensata/BEI 9960 Hall-Effect Rotary Position Sensor (IP69K)

Sensata/BEI 9960-series rotary position sensors are contactless Hall-effect sensors in a sealed IP69K housing. Active electrical angle ranges from 15° to 360° in 15° increments (24 variants), with full 360° mechanical rotation and mounting on a 38 mm bolt circle. Supply is 5 V DC ±5%, 9–30 V DC or 15–30 V DC; current consumption is 16 mA per channel, or 36 mA for the current-output version.

Outputs are 4–20 mA current (3-wire), PWM with 5–95% or 10–90% duty cycle, or voltage, in single- or dual-channel redundant versions. Surge immunity is 70 V according to ISO 7637-2. The contactless design provides high durability in harsh environments.

In rolling stock, the sensors are used for angular position measurement of valves, dampers, levers and mechanisms where sealing and vibration resistance are required.
